ZTE Majesty Pro Review

Releasing two version of a phone where both share everything other than the fact that one of them using GSM network and the other using CDMA network is a trend this day. ZTE Majesty Pro is a good example where it was released in two versions, the Z798BL and Z799VL.

Design

ZTE Majesty Pro was designed using the most common form factor, bar touchscreen design. It means there is no need to adapt to a new kind of design.

The physical size of this phone measured at 5.37” x 2.67” x 0.43” and weight at 4.81 ounces. Not too big and not too heavy as well. Basically, the size and weight is pretty average so there won’t be any problem handling it using one hand.

Display

While most Smartphone tends to go bigger in screen size (5 inches or more), ZTE Majesty Pro opt for smaller 4.5 inches of TFT LCD screen.

While the size is still big enough, sadly the screen resolution is poor, only 480 x 854 pixels. That is not enough for those who already use to HD resolution, so it means that people can’t expect to have a perfectly clear detail when they use this phone especially for playing game and watching video.

Software

ZTE Majesty Pro using Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow version. While it is not the newest Android version that is available, it is still new enough to make sure everything run smooth.

Camera

ZTE Majesty Pro comes up with two cameras, the 5 MP rear cameras, and 2 MP front cameras. It is obvious that the resolution on both cameras is low enough, compare to most smartphone this day that tries to keep a higher resolution for their camera. It means that people can’t expect to take a really high-quality picture with the camera on this phone. But thankfully the camera was equipped with several features such as auto focus, flash and also various camera modes.

Surprisingly, the video recording feature works much better than the camera. It allows people to record video at 1920 x 1080 resolutions at 30 fps.

Performance

It is obvious that ZTE Majesty Pro was not made for heavy stuff. Using 1.1 GHz Qualcomm Quad-Core MSM8909 and 1 GB RAM, the user of this phone can’t have too many apps inside this phone. It should work for those who tend not to have too many apps but it may not work for those with higher demand.

But thankfully the internal storage is big enough at 8 GB, although it is not fully usable. The phone also supports MicroSD that can keep up to 32 GB additional data.

Connectivity

In connectivity matter, ZTE Majesty Pro covers it all. It supports 4G LTE for those who need a faster internet connection. It also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB, GPS and also 3.5 mm Jack. It means that there is nothing lack in this area.

Battery

The phone is using 2100 mAh lithium ion and a non-removable battery that was said able to stay up to 11 days standby time and 12 hours of talk time. It means that people need to charge it more than once a day for constant use. The non-removable battery could be a problem because there are no way people can replace the battery if there is some problem with it. They have to take everything and it is very inconvenience for some people.

Wrap-up

Overall there is nothing special from ZTE Majesty Pro. Everything is average and some part of the phone even fall under average. For those who didn’t require too much from their phone, then this could be the perfect phone. But for those who have a higher demand on the phone they use, then they should look for other option.
